Across Hoquiam, parents, educators, and community members are coming together to do what the District has failed to do: protect our students, listen to our teachers, and hold leadership accountable.
The Hoquiam School District Accountability Project is a community-based research effort led by Praxia, a relational research lab committed to documenting harm and restoring dignity. At its core, this project is about student safety, educator well-being, and lawful transparency. It places a special focus on students with disabilities enrolled in special education services—those most vulnerable to neglect, retaliation, and systemic failures.
We’re collecting firsthand accounts from families and school staff. We’re reviewing timelines, policies, and public records. And we’re connecting those stories into patterns that can no longer be ignored.
This is how it works:
- We Listen. You share your story—anonymously if needed.
- We Document. We build the timeline, gather evidence, and identify violations.
- We Report. Our findings will be shared publicly, submitted to state agencies, and used to support legal action if needed.
We’ve already helped multiple families file complaints with OSPI. Now we’re building a broader, coordinated response.
If you’ve witnessed harm, neglect, retaliation, or were told to stay silent—we want to hear from you. If you believe our students deserve better—you are not alone.
This is your moment.
To speak up. To support. To make the invisible visible.
Let’s hold the line—together.
